Army Captain Arrested For Harassing Atiku

An Army Captain suspected to have deserted the Army two months ago, was arrested after he attempted to break into the Kaduna home of former Vice- President Atiku Abubakar.
The incident is coming barely one week after another man who alleged that the former VP owed him some money, climbed a telecoms mast and threatened to commit suicide if he did not get back his money.

The captain, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was said to have got to the house and began to bang persistently on the gate, causing fears among the residents.
It took the intervention of the police officers manning the house to prevent the intruder from gaining entry after the police had called for reinforcement.
Investigations carried out at the Anguwar Rimi Police Station revealed that the man was a serving army captain who may have deserted the army two months ago.
A statement from the Atiku Media Office in Abuja said the man got to the gate in Atiku’s residence and banged persistently on the gate,  demanding to see the ex Vice –Principal . After he was overpowered,  three copies of the Holy Bible, a rosary and some cash were found on him.
The statement further observed that it was not clear what the man motives were and that the former VP was embarrassed at the two incidents happening in one week. Atiku was said to be worried whether both events were sheer coincidence or something more sinister. The statement noted that the military authorities confirmed that the intruder was a serving army captain.
